I am a little bit of a celebrity chef groupie.
I bailed out of work early to wait in line at the Sur La Table on Fourth Street in Berkeley to have a cookbook signed by Rachael Ray. I found Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and told her ALL about my chocolate parties. I waited in line at the Williams-Sonoma in Walnut Creek to meet the queen of slow food herself, Alice Waters. I think if Bobby Flay popped up and told me he wanted to have a throwdown, I might up and die from the excitement.
When Martha Stewart went to prison, I bought a Juicy Couture t-shirt that said “Free Martha” and let me tell you, I wore it proudly. I spent nine hours once making an ice cream cake from her cookbook, I love that woman. So it was with great excitement that I took a very long lunch from work and waited two hours at the Williams-Sonoma in Union Square to meet her. It was quite a thrill, and let me tell you, she looks incredible.
As a true Food Network devotee, I am very excited to share that Giada is coming to the Bay Area to do a book signing for her new book Giada at Home: Family Recipes from Italy and California on Wednesday, April 14 at 1pm at the Williams-Sonoma in Union Square. Space is limited, so call ahead to pre-order your book for the event and reserve your ticket. Don’t miss it!
