Walnut Festival Twilight Parade

Hoist those kids up on your shoulders and enjoy Walnut Creek’s Twilight Parade, the evening of Saturday, September 15th as it makes its way downtown on Main Street.  The parade kick-starts the city’s Walnut Festival, now in its 75th year, and will celebrate with the theme ‘75 Years in the Spirit of Giving.’

The parade will feature six area high school marching bands, including a special rally band from Clayton Valley Charter High School— the Blue Devil Marching Band.  No parade would be complete, of course, without representation by the local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and a variety of classic cars.  The Ford Model- A club will be honored to escort the Pearl Harbor Survivor group.  A few local preschools will march their cute little way down the street as well, representing the other end of the age demographic.  Important city-people, like the Mayor and the City Council will wave to everyone as they cruise through downtown, though the kids will probably be most excited to see the Walnut King.  Who wouldn’t love a nut like that?

The parade will start at 6pm and go north on Main Street, from Mt. Diablo Blvd. down to Civic Drive.
