I am a busy mother of two fabulous littles! I enjoy shopping, family get-aways and food I didn't have to cook myself.

Clayton Valley Pumpkin Patch

cv patchOctober is not complete without our family visiting the Clayton Valley Pumpkin Patch. The tradition started when our first born was only three months old. Okay, so maybe he didn’t enjoy it as much as we did, but the pictures we got were priceless. Who doesn’t love a pic of a baby in a cauldron?!

This Bay Area favorite has been operating since 1980 and has added some fun elements throughout the years. Our kids are particularly fond of the trackless Pumpkin Farm Express train which runs after 3 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on the weekends. Not to be missed are a tunnel-maze of straw, lima bean pots, duck races, Horsey Hop-a-long, and a Barn Ball Toss. If animals are your thing there are plenty to see and pet at the Patch as well.

Mom and Dad will have plenty of opportunities to blow up Instagram with shots of their kids around various pumpkin heads, cauldrons, and other Halloween cutouts. They will also enjoy the gift shop, which offers cute Halloween decorations as well as Kettle Korn, Rachel Dunn chocolates, pumpkin treats, and Slow Hand BBQ smokin’ up savory treats on the weekends.

And of course what family trip to a pumpkin patch would be complete without, you know it – pumpkins. Take a leisurely walk through the new Walk-Through Garden.  See gourds, pumpkins, flowers, luffa sponges and bottle gourds growing along a garden path. Clayton Valley Pumpkin Patch has pumpkins of every size, shape, and color. You will certainly find something unique.

This pumpkin patch is open every day in October from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. So there are no excuses to not make it at some point this month. Check out http://www.cvpumpkinfarm.com for more information. Now get those knives and spoons ready to make the best Jack-O-Lantern yet!
